A New Investigator

I need some patch
Hey Mom, Dad, Cody, Colton and Kelsey!

How is everyone today?! First of all I would like to thank you so much very much, for the most delicious package of life. It is truly glorious and I am currently eating some of the glorious sour patch itself. It's a snack that smiles...not goldfish. So to answer your question yes I did receive the package.

This week was somewhat busy, not as busy as last week but Elder Williams and I still got much accomplished. I am planning on sending the package that I have either later on today or tomorrow. So I also have some good news, today our chevy Malibu was retired and we have replaced it with a BRAND NEW SUBURA! So I am pretty excited about that. But that is just a side note. But this week was pretty eventful for us in terms of missionary work. We found a new investigator this week his name is Dave, and he's an interesting guy. It was funny we received a call from some Elders in Whiterock which is an area that is right next to Richmond about 20 minutes away. So they called us and told us about Dave and that he was interested in meeting up with us. So we were like awesome someone new to go teach! So we called him up and we set up a time to go over. So we went over and it was a interesting appointment. The first thing he said to us when we walked into his house was "Hello brothers!" and then he said how he knows a few members of the church and how on of his friends have him a Book of Mormon. Then he said ok well I have one question about a verse, so we were like OK! So he opened up to Ether 12:!7 and it says "And it was by their faith that the three disciples obtained a promise that they should not taster of death; and they obtained not the promise until after their faith." The first thing that came into my mind was wow this guy's crazy! Does he think he's one of the three Nephites or something. But then he look at both of us and said what does that mean? He didn't even give us a chance to answer because he went straightaway telling us what he thought it meant. Which was basically that we all need faith to follow Jesus Christ. He was really cool though he had a lot of beliefs that were true but he also believed a lot of false doctrine. He tried to explain to us what the baptism of fire is. And yeah it was not correct, I thought it was funny though, people have funny interpretations of scriptures. Which made me think how grateful I am that we have a living Prophet who leads and guides us, and he is there and he is inspired of God to help us understand> the scriptures and their true meaning.

But yeah that was pretty much just the random weird teaching appointment of the week. It's funny though because we set a return appointment for next Saturday! =) This week Elder Williams and I were focusing on the importance of the Book of Mormon with our investigators. I don't think I told about this new investigator that we started teaching a little under 3 weeks ago. I'm sorry many things go through my mind as I e-mail and I usually get distracted, but it is getting better! So our new investigator's name is Rob and he's really cool he's 23 years old and he first started talking to his friend who is member about their faith randomly and they got talking and he wanted to learn more SO she invited him to meet with the missionaries and he said yes! So we've been focusing on the Book of Mormon with him and more importantly how it answers questions that each and every one of us have. So we asked him to read the Book of Mormon and as he was reading to think about the question that he has in his heart. I know that as he searches and he truly is sincere in his search for truth that he will find his answer in the Book of Mormon and the spirit will testify to him of the truth of it as well! But I just love to read to Book of Mormon I still can't believe how much I learn from it as I read it everyday!

That's so cool that you guys had some more baptisms at home! I'm excited because I'm positive that Richmond will be getting another very soon!

Anyway that's pretty much the highlights of this week. Elder Williams and I are preparing for a training that we will be giving to all the leaders in the mission Thursday about how to effectively use Mormon.org I'm really excited to see the good that will come from this. It's cool because we are going to be broadcasting it online to all the missionaries throughout the mission so that everyone will be on the same page with our goals and what we can achieve. So it will be good.

I've attached some pictures of me enjoying all of the delicious treats that you have sent, I appreciate them and I appreciate all that you do for me now and in the past and in the future even! The other random missionary in the last picture is Elder Larson and he comes down on Mondays to practice yo yo and Kung Fu with us.

Have a good week Love you all,

Temple Video Approved

Hi Mom and Dad!

This week has been supper busy for Elder Williams and I, this is probably the most busy I've been the whole time I've been out! But I'm happy that you all had a good weekend in Lake George, what did you guys do? Who went? So yeah I shared some arrowhead with another one of the members here on Saturday everyone thinks it's awesome and now people are starting to ask me for some, and the people I have gave some to are asking if they can order some! haha I think it's so funny as soon as anyone tries that sauce that's it it's all over and they're addicted! The storms that you are talking about are those all the tornado's that have been happening in the southern states? I heard about those a bit apparently it's the most amount of tornado's that have been recorded in one storm. So yeah that's pretty crazy the prophet definitely knows what he's talking about when he says to prepare a food storage!

Yeah do you guys remember that temple DVD that Elder Williams and I were working on for a really long time, well I remember that on Mothers Day I said it was rejected, well actually we just assumed that it was because we haven't heard anything from Church Headquarters. But last week we got a call from Church headquarters and apparently the DVD went all the way up to the 1st Presidency and it has been approved for use! They fully support it, so now we're going to start making many copies of the DVD so that we can send them to members all throughout B.C. So by the end of the day today we need 50 copies of that DVD burned, plus we completed the I'm a Mormon DVD so now we're working on distributing that to all missionary companionship's and also plus members of the high council. So I think we're going to need 175 copies of the I'm a Mormon DVD then in two weeks we're going to be giving a training to all the Zone and District Leaders on how to use mormon.org effectively with their investigators as well as with members.

So that boat that you were checking out, did you try it our on Lake George or somewhere else? That would be so fun to go boating together! So yeah I need you to find out a few things for me if you can. I need to know Marie's address because she wrote me like a few months ago and I finally wrote her a letter but she didn't leave me her address so I don't know what to do.

Last week Elder Williams and I also started to teach English class to the Chinese people with the mandarin speaking Elders because last transfer we lost a set of Elder here in Richmond and they helped out with English class so now that they're gone Elder Williams and I came in and took their place. So I've taught English class 3 times now because we have it 3 times a week for 2 hours. I teach the beginner class so I teach really simple vocabulary it's really fun, which is funny because when I 1st started teaching I wasn't too excited because I thought it would be boring, but I've learned that it's only boring if we make it boring.

We've been so busy in the office and with all the missionary work it's crazy!

So yeah I hope you all have a good week and I'm happy you all had fun in Lake George

Tell Doda and Baba I love them!

 Bye

Still Serving In Richmond !!!!

Richmond Area Missionaries
Hi Mom and Sonny Boy!

It was good being to talk to everyone last week, and I'm happy that everyone is doing well and everything is good back home. It was so cool to see everyone, it's crazy Kelsey looks like she's grown so much! Tell her I said good job for winning her medal at the Halo run. So did you guys get the Camper this week then? Is everything fixed on it? So are you guys going to hire someone to fix the dinning room or is dad going to do it himself? I don't know why it does that, it seems like it only started to get leaks in there ever since it was renovated.

We have Kung Fu again today! It's so cool, we learn different forms and techniques and we do stretches always before we start, and before I started to do the Kung Fu I was never able touch my toes in my entire life, BUT now I can and it feels so good. I also got a haircut today.

So as I told you on Sunday we had transfers this week so........Elder Williams and I are still in the office! Now Elder Williams has been my longest companion and Richmond has been my longest area, I was happy that I didn't get transferred because the work has been really picking up the past few weeks and we are finally starting to build a relationship with the members. So yeah Elder Williams and I will be here until the end of June at least. But this week was awesome! We were able to teach so many people we started teaching a new investigator this week his name is Rob and he was introduced to the church through one of his friends who's in the YSA ward in Langley. he's so cool! It always helps to strengthen my faith to see that Heavenly Father loves his children, I mean he's literally putting these people in our path! I feel so blessed with the opportunity to meet and teach all these people, and it feels like I'm learning more from them that they are from me.

The weather here has been getting better, it's rained for the past few days and it's only cloudy today, people here are still going crazy over the Canucks, but I want San Hose to win so Cody will be happy, it's cool because there is this one guy in our ward who tells me the scores and who is in the playoffs and other stuff like that.

Camala also came to church again this week and she's still progressing and doing really good, Elder Williams and I felt that many of our investigators weren't making much progress or didn't see a reason to apply what we've taught them. So we decided that we would pray and fast and ask Heavenly Father what to do. So we were in our weekly planning session and we both received the impression that we needed to help our investigators pray to receive revelation so we decided that we would go over it with all our investigators again and now all our investigators are sincerely seeking revelation from God. It's awesome! I'm so grateful for the blessing that it is to be able to pray to our Heavenly Father. I know that when we do pray and ask Heavenly Father
that he hears and answers us.

Anyway I hope everyone is having a good week

And Dad asked for the mail box in America so here it is

 Hey!

Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear MOOOOM, happy birthday to you!

So this week a little slow, I started to get sick on Wednesday night with a cold and then it just got progressively worse, so I'm still recovering from it but I am feeling alot better now. It just really slowed us down, and it really frustrated me because I'm so used to always doing something and when I was sick we weren't able to move at the same pace that we normally do, we had to slow down! I had to take a nap on Thursday because that was when I was feeling the worst. I couldn't understand why I got sick or why I wasn't getting better because we had so many appointments that we had set and I didn't want to have Elder Williams do everything by himself, that's not right. But then the weirdest thing happened because one by one all of the appointments cancelled usually that's not a good thing, but in this case it was because it gave me that time that I needed to get good enough to work hard again. I was thinking about it today, and I think it's really cool how Heavenly Father always is aware of how we are feeling, and he always gives us his help when we need it.

Before I got sick on Wednesday we were having a really good week though, Elder Williams and I are working hard to find new investigators to teach, going out and finding people is really fun. I really like seeing the different people's reaction to our message. We started to work more in the Tswwassen area,
Palm trees in Vancouver
which is the southern part of out area a little bit before Point Roberts, it's a really nice town and a completely different feel from Richmond. Tswwassen is more slow and it has more of a small town feel and it really reminds me of home, where Richmond is a fast pace city, so it's different I like both places very much, I also like having a change in atmosphere once in a while, like a fresh new start. But yeah it's really cool because on the main street in Tswwassen they have Palm trees growing it's really cool because it reminded me of when we went to Carolina. We have been working with the members more here as well, and it has been really paying off, there is a lady at church who has been bringing her friend to church for the past few Sundays and it turns out that she has been reading the Book of Mormon with him. So last Sunday she came up to us and asked if it would be okay we started coming over to her home and teaching her friend. We said yes! I just think it's so cool how some members really step it up and exercise their faith. When Heavenly Father sees that kind of faith he really blesses us and the joy that receive from those blessings is incredible!

Camala also came to church again so this was her second time attending church she is still doing really well, she was one of the appointments that got cancelled when I got sick, but it's still really great that she came to church. This week she stayed the whole three hours, and that it such a big step! I know for some people three hours can be a really long time. So she went to relief society and after church was over we went up to her and asked her what she thought and she said that she loved it and that she had a great time. One of the things about the church that really impressed her the most was the church welfare program. The church is such a blessing and it truly is the Kingdom of God on the earth! The church's humanitarian program really
helps out so many people which I think is great.

It's really weird because President Nelson is going to be finishing his mission soon, he goes home in June and then the new mission President (President Tileman) will be coming in. I'm excited to see what happens, I think it will be good to have a fresh new President who is pumped up and ready to do missionary work! I am grateful for President Nelson also for the great example that he is, for the contribution that he has made to the missionary work in this area. It's going to be sad to see him go because he's a really great guy, and he's really funny. But everyone has to go home sometime.

But I am really excited to talk to you guys on Sunday. Probably the best time to talk would be around 1:00 here which is 4:00 at home because we have church from 9:30-12:30. So let me know if that would be good.

Hope you have a good day! I'm so excited to talk to everyone!

Love you
