Blessed With Opportunities To Teach The Gospel

Hi everybody!

Sorry I didn't get to write you guys yesterday it was a hectic day! This past week in Richmond has been great! Elder Williams and I are being blessed with people to teach, sometimes I feel like we are being too blessed because we spend so much time in the office. Heavenly Father always helps us out! It really humbles me, I am grateful for all the opportunities we have been blessed with to learn and grow from!

Thats Kameron with a K
A few weeks ago we started teaching the friend of one of the primary kids in our ward. It's so funny because the primary kids name is Jimmy and he just turned nine, but Elder Williams and I were just at the doors greeting everyone on Sunday when Jimmy came up to us and said hey Elders I want you to start teaching my friend from school. So Elder Williams and I just looked at each other and we said cool, we didn't think anything would really come of it. But then the next Monday we got a call from Jimmy's mom and she invited us over to their family home evening, so we went and to our surprise Jimmy invited his friend to come, his name is Tyrel. Teaching Tyrel has been really different because he is the first child that I actually taught my whole mission, and it really hit me while we were teaching him that we can learn so much from children. I remember I heard talks in this past general conference but I didn't really think much of it, but the thing that sticks out most to me is how sincere Tyrel is and how he has this natural sense of what is right and wrong. We asked him if you could ask God 1 thing for what would it be? He said to listen more to others because he's never really been good at that. Just seeing how humble he was a willing to change, I think I'm learning more from him that he's learning from us because he's so cool already.

Also this week we met with Ethan Stuart, he's been investigating since Christmas that's when the missionaries found him. He's a really nice guy, Elder Williams and I are pretty much the same age as he is so when we talk it's more of a discussion about the gospel and how it can help us in our lives.

He's been having a really hard time committing himself to the gospel fully because he's been really distracted with school and with friends, so hopefully now that summer break is around the corner he will be able to spend more time figuring out for himself if the church is true or not! But he's a really nice guy and he's so smart! He's studying to become an engineer at the University of British Columbia.

We also met with Camilla again this week, and she's doing so GOOD! Last week when we met with her we asked her to read 3 Nephi, and then when we went to see her this week she told us that she read all the way to the end of the Book of Mormon and now she started reading Doctrine and Covenants. It's so cool though because she is so prepared and she is so accepting of all the things that we talk about. In our last lesson we talked about Repentance and why we all need to repent, then we invited her to come to church and she came. She said that she really enjoyed it and that she felt good. It really makes me feel good when I can see how the gospel changes people. With Camilla she has this strong desire to grow closer to God and she told us that when we come over to her house that she feels peaceful. When the spirit is there for our lessons it helps so much, and it's especially important because it's the spirit that truly converts people and helps them gain their own testimony.

So this has been a really good week for me, and I feel that I have learned alot as I looked at myself trying to figure out what it is that I'm lacking, or what is stopping me from committing myself 100% whole heartedly. When we are humble and open our hearts to Heavenly Father that's when he teaches us. If we allow ourselves to be humble then Heavenly Father can shape us into the servants who he wants us to become and to fulfill our full potential.

We finished the DVD last week and now we're working on making it available online, Elder Williams is building the website, so that should be done by this week. But the main thing that we're planning now is how to get the whole mission united in one cause, using the mormon.org website. So to do that we're sending out a Senior couple Elder and Sister Fillmore and they will go to all the areas in the mission and have a fireside presenting what mormon.org is and how to use it. I'm excited because I think mormon.org is such a great resource and it's a really easy way for us to share the gospel with our friends. Elder Williams and I use it all the time when we're contacting people. I think the part I like most about it though is all the video's because they are all about different people but every video has a spiritual side to it, and you can really feel the spirit in each person's testimony.

This week is looking like it's going to be a good week too, everyone in Vancouver is excited about the Canucks but apparently they're not doing that good too bad, and that's so sweet that you guys all had a good time in Plattsburgh I miss going there with you guys, but that's okay because I will be there in 2 more years haha! Missionary work is great though and it's so worth the sacrifice, my testimony has grown so much as well as my understanding of the gospel. I know that whenever we make sacrifices for the Lord that we are always blessed in a great abundance!

I hope everyone has a good week! Oh and we need to figure out what were doing on Mothers Days because we're allowed to Skype so I don't know if you want to do that or you would rather I just call.

Love you

Another glorious week in Richmond!

HEY!

Well it has been another glorious week in Richmond! The weather has been beautiful and Elder Williams and I have been working hard, one thing that I have learned is to never give up or get discouraged, even when everything isn't going as well as we would like. We taught a few lessons this week, we met again with Camilla last Wednesday, it's crazy it seems all the investigators that Elder Williams and I have been finding are those who are truly prepared and are ready and willing to accept the gospel. So in our last lesson with Camilla we talked about the restoration of the gospel and the Book of Mormon, it went really well and she's so excited to read to Book of Mormon, we asked her to read 3 Nephi 11 because she wanted to know what Jesus had to say to the people in America when he came, yesterday she called us up and said "Elder Williams, Elder Lahache I finished all of Nephi and now and I'm going to start reading 4 Nephi", she just sounded so happy. It's crazy how much reading the Book of Mormon can change someone, I even notice a difference in myself when I read to Book of Mormon everyday, it just makes me happier and I am more loving and caring for people. We can truly feel the spirit more strongly and abundantly in our lives when we make a habit of reading the Book of Mormon and other scriptures we have.

We also started to work closer to the members of Richmond ward this week, it turns out that members have been working with many of their friends in the past and missionaries got transferred and then when the new Elders came in I guess they didn't know, so the work that was going on good stopped for while. So it seems that we need to follow up with alot of members this coming week, we've been doing alot of following up in Richmond, former investigators, potential investigators. It has been really successful and it's nice to see that Heavenly Father prepares these people for when the missionaries do start teaching them again.

I feel that I am learning many things in Richmond, mostly from my companion Elder Williams, it's so funny because we are complete opposites in personality, so we both have really different views on how to do missionary work. Elder Williams is a very productive person who likes to have a structure to everything, where I am more loose, flexible. But in the short while Elder Williams and I have been together, he has helped me to become a more productive person, being with him has also helped me to become more understanding and loving. I am grateful for him and I am grateful for the chance I have to serve with him to help strengthen the people here in Richmond.

Work in the office is going well, the main project we're working on right now is still the I'm a Mormon but now we're coming up with training for it because President Nelson would like this project to go mission wide. Our desired outcome is to get all adult members in British Columbia to get a profile on mormon.org. So that is a pretty big project and it's going to keep us busy here in the office for the next few weeks. Another project that we're starting to work on is getting technology moving forward in the mission by getting iPad's or iPods, President Nelson is on board because we believe it would be really useful in efforts to get the I'm a mormon project moving forward.

So is there still alot of snow on the ground at home? Today we locked ourselves out of the office on accident for about an hour and so Elder Williams and I just lied outside in the sun and it was GLORIOUS! It was such a nice day today and it still is.

Anyway hope everyone is having a good week, and I hope you all have an awesome weekend at Best-western this weekend!

 Love you

The Work Is Picking Up

 Hi!

Out tracting
Sorry it's taken me such a long time to write today, they were cleaning the carpet at the office today so we had to wait for them to finish before we could come in to do our e-mail.

The work has been picking up this week so that always excites me. We took Andrew out to a few appointments this week and it's just so cool to see how much his testimony has grown. I know I keep telling you about it but it's crazy how fast he's growing. He met with the bishop this week they were meeting so Andrew could receive the Aaronic Priesthood and everything went well so he should be receiving the priesthood either this Sunday or next Sunday. It's so exciting. He's also given out 5 copies of the Book of Mormon this week! It's crazy to see the impact that he is having on the world, I am so blessed and happy that I had to chance to teach him.

Oh so this week too we met with a former investigator from 2007 and her name is Camilla. She's so cool we went in and we talked a little about her family and got to know each other. We taught her about the plan of salvation, the lesson went really good she asked many questions, she was really excited about it. It just makes me feel so good when we teach someone who truly has a desire to learn and also when the spirit is there it helps so much! So  we finished teaching her about the plan of salvation, then at the end we asked her "So Camilla, do you believe that this plan is what Heavenly Father wants for us?" She said yeah it makes perfect logical sense and it shows that God really does love us all so much that he has prepared a place where we all will be happy. Then we asked her if she believed it she said yes. When she said that I was so happy and you could see that she felt the spirit it was awesome. Then she asked us how Jesus Christ was tied into the plan. SO we said well we'll be able to talk about that next time we come over, so we have an appointment set to go and talk with her again later this week. we are so excited, but the coolest part is we get back and I'm filling out her teaching record. So the last time she's met with missionaries is 2007, the teaching record said that she was really smart and completely content with where she was at, but she wasn't sure if her children were happy. When we were talking to her she told us that she was in a car accident within the last 3 years, that experience changed her alot and made her realize that she needed God to help her. So while she was in the hospital her relationship with God really became important to her. Then when we called her telling her that we had a message that would add upon the truths that she believes now she was way excited to have us over. So it's just crazy for me to think because as soon as she was ready to hear the gospel again we gave her a call. It really helps me to see that God really does work through us and through those around us.

I didn't get a chance to mail the package last week so I'll try extra hard to send it off this week! The weather has been getting really nice too, it's been around 10-15 degrees everyday and it barely rained so that was a nice change!

So yeah ask Cody why he hasn't been answering any of my e-mails?!

Oh and we got to meet with president this week about the I'm a Mormon DVD he said he liked it so we're going to start mass producing them for the mission, he's going to a mission president seminar and he's going to bring a few copies to show different mission presidents from different missions so that's cool!

Anyway I gotta run we have an appointment in a few minutes
 Love you!!!

So last week was transfers and Elder Williams and I are still together

Hey everyone!

How is everyone doing? I hope everyone enjoyed General Conference, I know I did! It's awesome listening to the apostles and prophet and other church leaders speak to us especially when you come with an open heart and mind I learned so much! The spirit that comes when we hear the prophet speaks always makes me feel like I can just go out and tell everyone about the gospel and it gives me that extra spiritual boost. I would say that main message that I picked up from conference is that marriage is important and also the blessings that come from a righteous marriage are great. Obedience brings great blessings as well and it's a way that we show our Heavenly Father that we love him and are willing to trust him.

The work has been a little slow but still going good, ever since Andrew was baptized we are having trouble finding new people to teach, many of our investigators are busy and don't have time to meet with us which is a little frustrating but I know that if we put our trust in the Lord then he will give us opportunities to find and grow spiritually. We did set another baptismal date with one of our investigators named Alex this week, we had a lesson with him on Wednesday night and Andrew came with us to the lesson. The lesson went well, Andrew contributed quite a bit and I thought it was just awesome to be able to hear his testimony. It blows me away because he has such a strong testimony, even though he's only been a member of the church for a little over a week now. So the date that we set with Alex is the 24th of April, hopefully he will hit it, but in the end it will be his choice of whether he hits that date or not, all we can do is continue to teach and testify to him. Then it's up to him to pray and sincerely ask, we can ask him and commit him to do things but in the end it will be his desires if they are sincere or not. I feel my understanding of the gospel growing more and more everyday, I'm so grateful for my mission because it is giving me the opportunity to share my testimony with others and do my best to bring light into others lives.

So this week we finished the I'm a Mormon training DVD, and now President Nelson is reviewing it then he will give his feedback. Depending on what he says it will either be finished or we will have to go back and tweak a few things, which is fine I want it to be the best that we can make it, so that the members here in BC will feel a desire to start sharing what they have learned with their friends families. So this week I'll burn a copy of the temple DVD as well as the I'm a Mormon DVD and send both of those home!

So last week was transfers and Elder Williams and I are still together so that's another 6 weeks of office work for us! I'm excited about it, I think we might be in here for a while, we'll see though. I enjoy doing the work in the office but I find I always feel happier when we're out talking to people. But I know that what we're doing in the office will benefit the whole mission.

We also got to meet with Ethan this week, we went visit him at the University of British Columbia which is about 15 mins away, it's a pretty nice place. We talked to him about baptism, he's slowly but surely inching his way towards being baptized he has a few concerns that are stopping him from moving forward so Elder Williams and I are working really hard to find those so we can resolve them. It was really good because Ethan came to the priesthood session he said he liked it his favourite speaker was president Uchtdorf.

Those pictures from last week were way awesome to see! You guys are so lucky that you were able to go there with everyone and have a good time! Being on a mission has helped me see how awesome our family is, I always knew but I really did take it for granted. I'm excited for Cody he's going to do well in Dawson. Send me his grad pic when it comes in, it would be nice to see

Thank you for all your love and support you guys are awesome and I love you all so much! Tell everyone in Lasalle especially the Blakemores that I appreciate the support that they give I will do my best to write them something this week! Oh yeah and I think it was a few weeks ago I got a letter from Dave Jones too! It was really awesome to hear from him!

Hope everyone has a good week! I love you!!!!!! <3
