Transfers Tomorrow

Hey everyone,

It's been a great week. I don't have much time. This week is transfers, I'm going to be finding out tonight if I'm being transferred or not. I don't feel like I will be but we'll see.

This week has been great though, we had a really good week at church. Gordie comes every Sunday and we have a new investigator who comes to church, his name is Krassimiere. He's from Bulgaria and he's awesome, he came to the church by himself. He is looking for a church for his family. I'm excited to see the progress that he will make.

We're still on bus, but we might be getting a car soon. I really like being on bus, I feel that our area is way too big though. If we have to give up a car so that someone needs to have one that's fine with me.

We've been working really hard here and I know that the Lord will bless us according to our efforts. I'm really happy to have all my school stuff done. Now I can devote myself 100% again! I've been doing my best but I'm not going to lie it's been on my mind.

I do have a testimony that Heavenly Father wants the best for us. He provides a way for us to do all that he asks. I've been praying and asking Heavenly Father to help me to have the time to do all that I needed to for school and I have had the time to do it. I am so grateful for all that Heavenly Father has given me. I testify that he loves us, and wants what's best for us.

I hope that you all have a great week at Florida, your leaving this week right? I'll write a more detailed letter next week. Thank you so much for all that you do!

 I love you,

Elder Kameron Lahache

So Busy This Week Flew By!

 Hey Everyone!

President Tilleman, as far as I know left the hospital this morning. He is going to be going through rehab for about 2-4 weeks, we'll see how it goes but he is recovering FAST and QUICK too. It's wonderful to see the Lord's hand in his recovery, I feel more than anything that this experience will do nothing but help the mission.

This week went by so fast! I was barely in my area this week, I got to go on exchange with missionaries from the district. I went out first with The Vancouver YSA Elders, I was with Elder Bird and he actually came out the same time as I did. We were in the MTC at the same time we just never had a chance to meet each other until we got out to the mission field. The YSA missionaries are doing really well, they are having a baptism this Saturday, so I will be going to do my first baptismal interview. It should be fun I'm excited because I hear that they're incredibly spiritual experiences. I was on exchange with the YSA elders untill Wednesday night then on Thursday night I went to Coquitlam, which is just east of Burnaby. Coquitlam was just opened this last transfer so the Elders there have alot of work to do so it was really exciting to be a part of it. I got to go on exchange with Elder Harr who is actually a new missionary from Nevada. He's a really great Elder with a powerful testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I am so grateful for the opportunity that I have to serve as a mission. I've learned so much and my testimony of the Gospel continues to grow each and everyday. We set a baptismal date with one of our investigators named Mac, for March 17th. It was funny because Elder Henderson extended the invitation to be baptized. When he heard Mac say yes Elder Henderson about fell off his seat. He thought that he heard wrong so he asked Mac to be baptized again a second time, to which he accepted once again. I just smiled and we testified of the importance of baptism. The spirit was there and now we're working with Mac so he can make the necessary steps to prepare himself to be baptized! Once we were out of the appointment Elder Henderson was ecstatic, he started calling all the missionaries in the district describing what had happened. It was really funny because he was so excited for Mac as am I.

This Sunday we had someone called to be our new ward mission leader. So I'm really excited to start working with him. I know having a ward mission leader will help the work in Burnaby progress much faster than it is now.

Being on Bus is so much fun. It does take alot longer to go places though, it took us an hour and a half to get from one end of our area to the other on Thursday afternoon, luckily we planned two hours of travel time between those two appointments. If we didn't we would have never made it on time! It's great though we have good long conversations with people. It's funny because all we have to do is start talking to people and somewhere down the line they always ask us who we are and what we're doing. I just love being a missionary, and it's truly a wonderful blessing to be able to share this Gospel with my brothers and sisters here.

Sounds like everyone had a great time at Cody's birthday party! I'm excited to see the pictures when they come.

Tell everyone at home I said Hi!
 Have a great week!

Love,
 Elder Kameron Lahache

Please Pray For President Tilleman

 Hey everyone!

President Tilleman is in the hospital right now, he's recovering from an accident that he had in which he suffered spinal damage. Please keep President Tilleman in your prayers.

Also District Leader and trainer responsibilities don't necessarily have to go together. For example I was just a trainer before a district leader, and there are many district leaders who are just that, however I am currently doing both. It's a wonderful opportunity for me to serve the missionaries in the district though I love it! I am very humble for the Lord's call and I am relying on him now more than I ever have because I not only need to receive counsel about the area but now about what we can do to help make the missionaries better.

I'm not sure what to think about how much longer I'll be in Burnaby. At the end of this transfer I will have been here 9 months! Which is awesome I love being in Burnaby and I know it like the back of my hand. This past Sunday Elder Henderson and I were asked to give talks, so at the beginning when Bishop was introducing the speakers he said "We'll be hearing from two wonderful speakers today, first we will hear from Elder Lahache" Then he paused and said "well we might as well just start calling him Brother Lahache because of how long he's been here." It's great to be in an area for such a long time because I've really been able to develop a strong relationship with the members, which is great because it helps with the work in so many ways.

I can't believe how quick time goes by on the mission. We've been getting around great on the bus system, it's wonderful because we get to talk to people all the time. I am ready for it to stop raining though I'm not going to lie. It was great today because it's sunny.

This week is already looking really busy we have 17 lessons set so we have to plan carefully so we can arrive to all our appointments on time. I'm going to be going on exchange two times this week with the Vancouver YSA area and Coquitlam. It's interesting because they are my primary focus now. President told me that my priority is first with the Lord, then to him and then to the missionaries in the district. That's what it says in the white handbook so that's what I'll do! I am grateful for the leaders of the mission who work so hard so that we can be the missionaries Heavenly Father wants us to be.

Tell President Kaufman that I received his letter and that I appreciate the time that he took to write me. It was nice to get a quick update from him. See if you can get his address at home so I can send him a quick note saying thank you.

So if there is anything else that I need to do for school let me know. Like you said we need to work fast so we can make this happen.

Have a good week, I love you guys!

Time Is Flying By

 Dear Mom and Dad

I heard about the Giants winning the superbowl yesterday! I was so happy and I could only imagine how crazy every at home must have went! I can't believe how fast time is going by!

I've been over my cold for about a week and a half, Elder Henderson thought he was getting sick but he turned out to be okay. This week was our first week on the bus, I really like it because we're out all the time and there isn't a moment of the day where your not around people. So we get to talk to people on the street on the bus and even skytrain, it's like the metro system back home only here it's above ground even above the road! Anyway it's great being able to talk to people all the time I love it! Sometimes there are people who are really grouchy and just don't want to talk at all, but I don't let it mess with me, I just try to make them laugh and have a good day. It's especially funny talking with the Chinese people because all you have to do is speak a little Chinese and they freak out! Then once you've impressed them with your language skills you can talk to them about anything and they'll listen.

Many of our appointments that we had set fell through this week, which is okay because we're still getting used to getting around this huge area on public transportation. This week is looking really great, Elder Henderson and I are ready to work hard!

Tell Alex that I did not receive his e-mail from before Christmas! For future reference if anyone wishes to e-mail me my email address is kameron.lahache@myldsmail.net anyone can e-mail me, but I can only reply family. If anyone e-mails me who is not family please include your address so that I can write you back a letter! Thanks!

Also I did receive the most glorious pizza from Papa John's from Shawn and Mattie on my birthday! It totally made my day! Tell them I said thanks, I'll be writing them today also.
My New Clean!!! Apartment

Our new apartment is beautiful and we're able to keep it nice and clean just the way I like because it is only Elder Henderson and I living there. When we lived at the old place I had to clean up after everyone, all the missionaries started calling me Papa Lahache because they said I was the father of the house.

We've been working with the ward these past few weeks with the ward, to help less active members return back to church. Every single person is important in the eyes of our Heavenly Father, it's great because when we're there in the appointment I can feel Heavenly Father's love for that individual. I listen to the spirit and it guides us to know what to say that will help this certain person. I also know that it is important for us to be obedient so that we are worthy to have that companionship and guidance of the Holy Ghost.

This past week we received word that President Tilleman is in the hospital and is recovering from an accident. Please pray for him that he will get well soon. It's nothing serious, but he could definitely use all the prays that he can so that he'll be able to get back to work!

The work in Burnaby is still going strong, I'm excited because we're working in more unity with the ward than we ever have before. If we want to get more baptisms in this mission we need more missionaries, the members are those missionaries that we need to us more fully. We've also been focusing in on part member families and that has been incredibly successful and they when they start investigating the spouse is there to support them all the time. That's exactly what we need, I'm excited to see the fruits of all the hard work that we're doing.

Gordie Carley is still progressing well, he had a testimony and wants to be baptized, his mom said that he can be baptized after he graduates which will be this upcoming summer. If I do get transferred I hope that that I can come back for that because, I've been with him every single step of the way, it would be amazing to see him take this step in coming closer to his Heavenly Father! I don't really feel like I'm going to be transferred anytime soon either, you guys are right!
Tell everyone at home that I love them and pray for them daily!

I love you all too!

Official Burnaby Missionary

Hey everyone!

This week has been great! I am now the official Burnaby missionary, even bishop in PEC this Sunday said that everyone should just start calling you Brother Lahache because I've been here for so long! I love it though, it's great because I know so many people in the ward, I'm not going to lie, it's going to be really hard for me to leave Burnaby.....if I ever do get transferred.

We've been working really hard in our area to help one of Heavenly Father's children accept the blessings of baptism. I feel like were getting closer and closer each week, I know that as we continue to have faith and live exactly obedient to the mission rules then we'll see blessings here.
We are going to be testing not having a car this week in Burnaby, we'll be on buses starting Monday, like you said mom it's going to really change the way we have to work in this area. I'm a little scared because I really hope we'll be able to get to all the places and appointments on time, we have skytrain in Burnaby which is faster than bus, Burnaby is big though! But I know that Heavenly Father will provide a way for us to do all that he asks us too. I'm excited for it though because that means that we'll be out contacting all the time! I really love being out talking to people as much as I can! It's going to be alot like Delta I think.

We've been working really well with the ward the past few weeks, I don't know if I told you or not but in Burnaby one of the goals on the ward mission plan is to have 20 exchange hours a week with the missionaries. I think it's awesome, so we've been bringing members to almost every single appointment that we had this week. It really makes a difference and when the members bear their testimonies of the gospel you can feel the spirit so strongly. We've been working with many less active members in the ward and it's wonderful to help these people come back! I feel like Alma when he says "I know that which the Lord hath commanded me, and I glory in it. I do not glory of myself, but I glory in that which the Lord hath commanded me; yea, and this is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy. And behold, when I see many of my brethren truly penitent, and coming to the Lord their God, then is my soul filled with joy; then do I remember what the Lord has done for me, yea, even that he hath heard my prayer; yea, then do I remember his merciful arm which he extended towards me." (Alma 29:9-10)

We started working with a part member family this week. Missionaries have been trying to teach them FOREVER! We were planning one night and we just felt that we should drop by and have a visit with them. So last night we dropped by, and they let us in. We sat down for a few minutes and spoke to the member husband, while his wife was on the phone upstairs. After a few minutes the wife finally came down and we had a casual conversation then she started asking questions about tithing and next thing I knew we were teaching a lesson. It was awesome, towards the end of the lesson she expressed to us that she really wanted her son to go on a mission and that she knew it was the right thing. We invited her to learn more about the church and she accepted, we're going to go see them again next Sunday and to top it off they even invited us over for supper!

I'm really excited to do missionary work, I am so grateful for the wonderful opportunity that I have to serve. I've learned so much and I continue to learn more about the Gospel and strengthen my testimony everyday! Tell Uncle Jay I said HAPPY BIRTHDAY! It's also great news to hear that Didier and Nathaniel both recieved the Melchizedek priesthood, they'll be great missionaries.

It'll be awesome having the mission president come over on Friday! I know that I love and respect President Tilleman so much, he's a really good friend of mine. I can't wait to see how he reacts with Dad's sauce on the ribs.

I'll make sure to check daily for the package that Auntie Fatima sent at the old apartment, but I don't know how to set up a forwarding address :S

Tell Doda and Ma that I received their cards and that I love them very much!

Have a good week! Love

Elder Kameron Lahache!
